Salt Lake City, Utah

Above is the Salt Lake City Temple.

I have had to re-do the Salt Lake City blog do to it being lost when blogger went down.

Temple Square in Salt Lake City, is Utah's most popular tourist destination. Part of its appeal lies in its accessibility: three city blocks in downtown Salt Lake City contain nearly 20 attractions related to Mormon pioneer history and genealogy, including the Salt Lake Temple, the Tabernacle, and the Family History Library. This means that visitors can see all or most of these attractions in a short period of time. This building is a worldwide icon of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the heart of Temple Square. The massive granite edifice was constructed in a neo-gothic style over the course of an astounding 40-year period between 1853 and 1893; the pioneers who settled the valley sacrificed both time and material goods to the building of the temple, which stands as a testament to their faith and devotion. Utah rivers offer some of the world's best white water rafting. The Green and Colorado Rivers cut across Utah providing all levels of rafting excitement with rapids from Class I to Class V. Relax, enjoy the scenery and stage water fights on easy, flatwater sections like Fisher Towers or Labyrinth Canyon. Also, Utah offers great opportunities for canoeing and kayaking. With Five National Parks and Monument Valley, Utah is America's national parks capital. These national parks are located close together, allowing visitors to experience them all in one trip. Whether you choose to visit just one or two, or swing through them all, your trip is certain to be unforgettable! There are also great canyons that offer hiking and biking. You may even want to try the horseback riding! Utah is a state you can get close to nature. This state has opportunities for anyone of any age.
